Matthew 25:35 – Because we see Christ in others… “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Our belief at New Hope Lutheran Church is that as people choose to serve, whether in our church, in the local community, or around the world, the impact of that service will change lives—for those serving, for the people they serve, and even for those who see them giving their time to help someone else. ACTION (Area Christians Taking Initiative on Needs) is dedicated to sharing the love of Christ through acts of service that change lives and strengthen communities.

Its mission is to mobilize volunteers, churches, businesses, and agencies to profoundly impact lives, families, and communities with hope. This network of churches across the Conejo Valley and Ventura County assists volunteers within churches and the community to quickly connect with service opportunities in the community. We challenge you to put your faith in action. Visit ACTION to find ways to serve the seniors, disabled residents, under-resourced families, the homeless population and at-risk youth in our community. You can find service opportunities daily or become involved with larger service days or community projects.

James 2:15-17 – Because “faith in action” is alive…“Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by actions, is dead.”
